This Simple Oven Roasted Turkey is a classic turkey with no fuss. This turkey is stuffed with seasoned veggies and finished with an olive oil glaze that makes the skin crisp up in the oven.
Ingredients
-
1 Organic Prairie® Whole Turkey
-
2 large carrots
-
2 stalks celery
-
1 yellow onion
-
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for the skin
-
2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
-
White pepper
-
Fine sea salt
Directions
Make sure your turkey is defrosted. Remove packaging and the bag of giblets from the turkey. Pat dry the turkey with paper towels.
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
Roughly chop the carrots, celery, and onions. (These are just for flavoring the turkey.) Add to a bowl and mix with the 2 tablespoons olive oil and poultry seasoning.
Stuff the turkey with the seasoned veggies.
Add the turkey to a roasting pan, breast side up. Using a pastry brush, brush the outside of the turkey with olive oil until it’s completely coated. Generously season with salt and white pepper.
Cover the turkey with a lid or foil. Bake for 15 minutes per pound. Uncover for the last hour of baking, brush the skin with move olive oil, and turn the oven to 400°F to get a golden brown skin. Bake until internal temperature is 165°F.
